Guidelines for the delivery, reception and opinion of articles

Specialists in economics are invited to submit papers for publication under the following rules:

Only unpublished materials written in English or Spanish and that are not proposed to another journal are received.

  1. The collaborations will be: research articles (document that presents original research results) and Literary review article (document that analyzes, systematizes and integrates the results of other published research in order to account for the state and advances in a scientific field), with an extension of no more than 7,500 words, including graphs, tables and references. They are not received: very local research, and that does not compare the same phenomenon in other states, countries or reference groups; simple case studies, which are limited to describing phenomena and the author provides little criticism; descriptions of a specific phenomenon, of a specific moment, without continuity and without analyzing trends; work with standardized methodologies without additional input.
  2. Before sending a work for opinion, the Editorial Committee carries out a pre-evaluation or selection process to verify that the content of the work deals with a subject that is contemplated among the objectives of the journal, also to verify that the presentation is that established by the journal in the instructions for authors and to designate the evaluators who will carry out the arbitration. Manuscripts will be evaluated by two specialist reviewers and, if necessary, a third. The entire peer review process is done anonymously, both from the author of the article and from the reviewers (double-blind peer review). These people are selected by the Editorial Committee. After completing the review process, the authors will be notified of the decision, which may be one of the following: accept without changes, accept with corrections, conditioned on a complete and thorough review and reject. The final decision will be taken by the Editorial Committee.
  3. When the above process concludes, the authors will receive their manuscript for a final review, before the publication of the article. The authors are responsible for carrying out the final review and making the necessary changes.
  4. The minimum period for giving an opinion shall be four weeks and a maximum of twelve weeks from the date on which the proof of receipt is issued. The receipt of a work does not imply any commitment of the journal for its publication. The editorial staff will acknowledge receipt of the originals within a period not exceeding 10 working days.
  5. The editors reserve the right to make the style modifications they deem appropriate.
